







EXPERIENCE
I have spent the last 15 years working with European Structural Funds both as an applicant and for the last 6 years managing the European Social Fund in the Highlands & Islands of Scotland.
I am happy to provide anyone with a complete Curriculum Vitae if required but I have also set out below some of my key experiences.
PRACTICAL SKILLS
As Programme Manager for the Highlands & Islands Partnership Programme I was responsible for the administration and management of ESF in the Highlands & Islands. A total budget of € 58 million 2000-2006 (Objective 1 Transitional Programme).
I was responsible for project development and appraisal and work with applicants to bring forward good projects across a variety of areas including, vocational training, FE and HE courses, R & D, business development, cultural and heritage sectors. I was also involved directly in the monitoring of projects and worked closely with the Scottish Government in this role.
I am also involved in work as a European consultant working on EU projects in the accession countries. Specific links to Estonia, Slovenia and Poland. Areas of specialism include; project design, implementation, monitoring and evaluation, labour market issues, design of HR programmes.

Prior to my work with HIPP I spent many years in the Human Resources field where I was involved in personnel, training design and delivery, trainer training.
I also work as a freelance journalist and contribute both news stories and features and reviews to various Scottish media outlets.
